A Brazilian Journal of Health and Pharmacy (BJHP, ISSN eletrônico 2596-321X), whose abbreviated title is Braz. J. Health Pharm.,is a scientific journal published by the Regional Pharmacy Council of the State of Minas Gerais (CRF/MG), with a multidisciplinary and transdisciplinary focus. Its mission is to publish scientific papers and technical notes in the pharmaceutical, biological, and health sciences, bridging the gap between scientific research and professional practice.
Scientific papers are original and unpublished works, subject to peer review and aligned with the journal’s scope. In this category, BJHP publishes original research articles, review articles, research protocols (systematic reviews, scoping reviews, and clinical trials), case studies, case reports, and opinion articles. Manuscripts are divided into six sections: Pharmaceutical Sciences, Health Management, Basic Sciences, Complementary Practices, Health Education, and Others. The evaluation is conducted by at least two ad hoc reviewers using a single-blind review process, in which the reviewers’ identities are kept confidential from the authors. It is the associate editor’s responsibility to analyze the reviews, weigh them, decide on borderline cases, and issue the editorial decision. Approved manuscripts are published on a rolling basis, individually, as the editorial process is completed, with their own pagination within a single annual volume.
Technical notes are the only type of technical and technological article accepted by the journal. They are applied works with a technical and scientific basis, intended to guide practices, inform decisions, systematize recommendations, and improve services, processes, or policies. They also promote the translation of knowledge for professionals, managers, researchers, students, and other interested audiences. They are published in dedicated supplements, distinct from those intended for conference and event abstracts, in accordance with the template and editorial, ethical, and technical-scientific criteria defined by the journal. Technical notes undergo single-blind peer review by at least one ad hoc reviewer; the associate editor is responsible for analyzing the reviews, deciding on borderline cases, and issuing the editorial decision.
The inclusion of technical notes stems from the BJHP’s affiliation with a professional council, whose institutional function includes ensuring the proper practice of the profession. The journal is committed to providing a qualified channel for the systematization of recommendations and guidance on professional conduct, ensuring that technical notes are not confused with scientific articles, from which they are distinguished by nature, purpose, and place of publication.
Manuscripts in Portuguese and English are accepted, accompanied by a resumo and an abstract. Contributions are not limited to pharmaceutical authors or to any specific institutional affiliation; national and international works from various subfields of the pharmaceutical, biological, and health sciences are welcome. The journal is published electronically, with open access and free of charge.
Although maintained by the CRF/MG, the BJHP operates with full technical and scientific autonomy and editorial independence. Editorial decisions are based exclusively on criteria of originality, relevance, methodological quality, and adherence to the journal’s scope, and are not subject to interference unrelated to scientific merit. The organization, operation, and general guidelines of the journal are governed by CRF-MG Resolution No. 5/2026, available for public consultation on the Transparency portal.
